Background & Training

Stephanie Holz is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, families and individuals. ICEEFT certification involves years of post-graduate training, ongoing supervision and careful review of clinical work to ensure competence in the EFT model.

Why EFT? Stephanie chose to specialize in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) while working with couples and seeing how often they became trapped in painful cycles of conflict despite deeply loving one another. EFT helps uncover the attachment needs and emotional patterns that drive these cycles, creating opportunities for lasting change.

Stephanie is level-2 trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS & IFIO) and is working towards certification. She is also currently training in EMDR.

In addition to private practice, she has completed extensive training in community mental health at Women’s Clinic Counseling Center and the Santa Monica-Malibu school district. She holds a master’s degree in both Art and Clinical Psychology.

Stephanie works integratively, drawing from the fields of Internal Family Systems (IFS & IFIO), Relational and Depth psychology, Narrative therapy, Psychodynamic psychotherapy, CBT, DBT, EFT, Feminist and LGBTQI affirmative, trauma-informed approaches to treatment.

She sees clients in-person in Brentwood, Los Angeles or via telehealth in California.
